The Ink Panthers Show! Episode 28

Just under the wire, we’ve got one more episode for 2009. Listen in as we discuss the Decade That Was The ‘Aughts. Plus, hear what’s in store for the prowling Ink Panthers in 2010. Comments Welcome!

Two new Troop 142 pages posted on the site. I can’t imagine I’ll get much more work done on this for a few days, as Christmas is now upon us, so just wanted to wish anyone reading Happy Holidays.
However, there definitely ought to be a new Ink Panthers Show! podcast next week, where I think we’ll attempt to do our Decade in Review. Plus, I think we’ll try to hit a few more items on the “Show Ideas Slush Pile” – you know, to get that all cleared away and a fresh slate going for the New Year.

I’ve whited out the caption boxes on this page, because I’m not sure what they’re going to say anymore. I’m not even sure if I can still use this page in the story. But, here it is on my website, because I spent some time on it, and I don’t want it to be a total waste.

This is one I’ve been working on this week. What is Dan the lead contender for? Here’s a hint: it’s a prize of some kind, and it has a rude name.

Mike’s friend Rob from High School (as seen in Freddie & Me) creeps into the Panther’s Lair to rebut recent accusations and recriminations. Comments Welcome!

All the Boy Scout troops come here for breakfast and dinner. I can’t remember from my own Boy Scouting experience if lunch happens here too. I’ll have to decide that at some point.
At the camp I used to stay at, there was a second set of grounds specifically for troops who cooked their own meals (cooking your own food is really the Boy Scout camping norm, it’s just at this special week long Summer camp where there’s a dining hall), but at the moment I’m leaving that out of the Troop 142 story.
This picture might look different in it’s final form. There probably should be a lot more people outside of the building. When I was drawing this, I was more focused on trying to get better at drawing trees, and kind of dropped the ball on putting the crowds in.

I’ve posted five new pages to the Troop 142 online comic. To read from the beginning, click here.
This little scene is rated Mature Readers”, for use of immature language.

This is the Thor painting we have up over our dining room table.

When I was in college, working towards getting a BFA, I did a whole series of paintings like this, where I took panels from Marvel and DC comic books, and cropped them so that the characters heads and stuff were cut-off. It was supposed to be a statement about objectifying male characters in comics, and also supposed to be kind of funny.
Anyway, I just always liked how this one came out, and it’s been hanging up in my various apartments for years, though usually in a bedroom, or last apartment-go-round in my office.
Where we live now, this is currently up in the dining room. We had Hanukkah dinner at our place yesterday, and while we were eating, one of my wife’s relatives looked up and noted that this was basically a painting of Thor’s crotch. I had to admit, that yes, it was. I’d kind of forgotten that it’s kind of an odd picture to have up.
