Mike Dawson Comics

I’m very excited about this event, especially the casual brunch-like nature of it. As the flyer says, it’s baby and pet friendly. I know I’ll be bringing Orli, and hopefully some other little kids will be there too.

Alex, John, and I will each do a short reading of our work, and then interview each other conversational-style. It will essentially be like a live episode of The Ink Panthers Show!, except that for once we’ll just being talking about the comics-making process, and not things like our apartments and our neighbors and stuff like that.

Hope to see some of you there!

Our first episode with a third Panther, Tony Consiglio joins us from Apache Junction, Arizona for a fun-filled half-hour. In this episode we discuss life in Arizona, entertaining out-of-town guests, and whether or not Alex and Mike are real or “faux” men. Also, more details emerge about the upcoming Ink Panthers Live Event.

Super Heros, a comics shop in Paris, made this ex-libris bookplate to insert into French copies of Freddie & Me. They sent me a box of them. They’re really nice.

This is a picture I took at TCAF of my table. I never got around to posting any of my TCAF pics, but most of them weren’t very good anyway. I might need a better camera, or maybe I just need to read the manual to find out how to take less blurry photos.

A jam-packed episode, with all sorts of updates and debates: I fill Alex in on the details of my big move last weekend; we discuss cell-phone ethics; I object to my undeserved reputation as a bad giver of gifts; and Alex convinces me that I’ll be able to come up with a good Best Man speech when the time comes. I’ll try to talk a little bit about MoCCA on this week’s episode of The Ink Panther’s Show. I took it easy this year, heading home after dinner each night, and getting into the new David Mazzucchelli book, Asterios Polyp, which I bought early Saturday morning. My biggest regret of the show is not getting this signed when I had the chance.
